My work focuses on the impact of climate change on human health, the therapeutic effects of psychedelic drugs, the corporate financialization of American healthcare, and the interdependence of the world around and within us. I've been supported by grants and fellowships from Berkeley, as a Ferriss-UC Berkeley Psychedelic Journalism Fellow, and the National Institute for Healthcare Management. I was selected for a residency at MacDowell in 2025, where I was the recipient of a Calderwood Journalism Fellowship. I have a medical degree from Columbia University and completed residency training at Harvard. I practice in rural emergency departments in the desert southwest, where I am a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico. I'm represented by Katie Cacouris of The Wylie Agency.
